A deadly virus that deteriorates the brain is wiping out the city. Armed with enhanced stamina, uncontrollable rage, and insanity, an infected canine turns against its captors and flees to the streets. Left to his own agenda, Katzbalger spreads the infection and builds up a pack bent upon slaughtering humans and 'impure' dogs alike for the sake of evolution. A small group of street dogs have banded together in a struggle for survival, and those few with a natural immunity to the virus stand as the only defense against devastation.

Where are all the humans?
Hiding from all these rabid dogs running around probably. Also humans are hard to draw. What does the virus do to its host? Tongue, gum, and eye discoloration, gradual brain deterioration, and false sense of invincibility. They have heightened pain tolerance which tricks the hosts into feeling stronger as they grow weaker, as well as acting much more recklessly. Very similar to rabies, and eventually results in death. Can humans become infected by the virus? Humans bitten by an infected dog will experience seizures, hallucinations, fever, and eventually death. Where did the virus come from? The virus is the result of bio-engineering evolved forms of deadly diseases with the intent of creating possible cures, and testing these viruses and cures on stray and unwanted animals. How did you make the pages? virusRISING is made entirely with digital mediums: Photoshop CS3, and Paint Tool Sai. I used a Wacom Bamboo tablet and took anywhere between 2-3 hours to complete a single page. |
