As some of you might remember back when Issue #2 had been completed, I decided I wanted to feature some artwork made by vR fans in the back of the book! Back then, the first few commenters on my journal entry were featured as a first-come-first-serve basis. Now however, I'm going to be holding a contest to give everyone else a chance that didn't get featured in issue #2! (That means that if you got your fan art printed in the last issue, please don't enter the contest this time!)
To enter this contest, create art of character(s) from virusRISING. This can be a digital or traditional painting, drawing, or sculpture. Photomanipulations and photography will not be accepted for this contest, and neither will fan fictions or written art. For more information, visit my journal entry here! Added some small changes to various webpages here on the site. Added a commenting feature to the Gallery page, and you can now link back to us on the Extras page!
Page 19 of issue 3 is now online! Man I am pumping out these pages quick... Mostly because they're so simplistic and I have nothing else to do! Haha.
Click here to read! Decided to upload page 17 to the website before dA this time! It's actually been done for a couple days ...I don't know why I waited sorry haha.
You can read it here! Don't forget you can always head over to the forum to discuss theories about the comic. Changed the update format here on the site. Now you can comment on these posts, but there probably won't be as many preview images with the text. Oh well! Makes updating easier anyway haha.
I'm going to be uploading sketches of characters from the comic regularly. Here's the first! Click the image to go to the gallery. (originally posted 3/22/12)
Page 16 of issue 3 is up! It was actually available on deviantART yesterday, but due to some internet problems I was having, I wasn't able to upload it to the website until today. Who is this strange female border collie approaching the equally unusual dead sheep? What the hell is going on?! Click here to read. (originally posted 3/8/12)
After working on this website for what seems like forever, I'm happy to say it's finally ready to be viewed by the public! When I first started building the website, it was originally a Wordpress blog. I heard that Wordpress and Comicpress (a theme for WP) were the ideal website building applications for webcomics, and figured I might as well try it out. After about three or four days of trying again and again to figure out how to use and customize the Wordpress blog, I gave up and returned to weebly.com knowing that their website builder is about a million times simpler for me. I also hope to soon change the address to "virusrising.com" but there's been some complications so that may not be for a while. You might think that the new website is not ridiculously different from the old one at first glance. The main change that was made was the comic-viewing style on the Comic page. Rather than a gallery-like format on the old website, you can now choose a comic page from the list and view it on its own webpage. This way, you can avoid spoilers and also comment on each page individually. Putting this new viewing style together was rather tedious, but I think it's worth it! I hope you guys enjoy the new website, and feel free to offer suggestions on how to improve the site, or inform me on any errors you might find. There's still more things that are going to be added to the site, so keep checking back! |
